The US Wants to Ban All Untrustworthy Chinese Apps and Internet Actors

US foreign minister Mike Pompeo wants to separate the US from China as much as possible with a new campaign.

Apps, telecom infrastructure and cloud storage are all coming into view.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo wants to ban a large number of “untrustworthy Chinese apps” and US actors.

This takes Pompeo a step further than President Trump, who previously threatened to ban TikTok in the United States unless it was sold to an American company.

According to Pompeo, apps like TikTok and WeChat are a threat to the privacy and personal data of US citizens. It is an escalation of the trade war between the US and China.

The US government assumes that these types of apps and equipment collect data that could be exploited by the Chinese Communist Party.

China has always denied that, and real evidence to this effect has not been made publicly known.
