Zelensky: Israel is a Good Place for Peace Talks

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky said in his daily video message on Sunday that peace talks with Russia may be held in the Israeli capital Jerusalem. “It’s a good place to find peace if that’s possible,” Zelenski said.

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett is trying to act as an intermediary between Ukraine and Russia. Bennett spoke several times last week with both Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“We are grateful for his efforts,” Zelensky said in the video message, “so that sooner or later, we can have consultations with Russia.” Zelensky also said a week ago that he thought Jerusalem was a suitable place for peace talks.

Earlier on Sunday, Zelensky addressed members of the Knesset, as the Israeli parliament is called. In addition, Zelensky criticized Israel’s reticence regarding the Russian invasion.

So far, the Jerusalem government has not imposed any sanctions on the Kremlin or supplied any weapons to Ukraine. “Indifference kills,” Zelensky told the Knesset.
