Apple Starts Production of New iPhones Later This Year

Apple will begin production of the new iPhones that the company will present later this year a month later than usual.

That writes the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal based on insiders.

The reason for the postponement is the disruption of the supply chain in Asia and the expected lower demand for new smartphones due to the corona crisis.

Apple is expected to release four new iPhones this year. It would be the iPhone 12, which will be available in two sizes, and the iPhone 12 Pro, which would also be made in two sizes.

Some of the new iPhones, presumably the Pro devices, would be ready for 5G.

Apple usually presents its new devices in September, after which they will be released in the following weeks. The company declined to respond to the reports.
