EU Not Yet Removes Families of Diplomats from Ukraine

The European Union has no plans yet to bring back the families of EU diplomats from Ukraine. The EU will not follow the example of the United States, for the time being, says foreign chief Josep Borrell.

 

The US government announced that it would recall family members of employees in Ukraine on Sunday.

It has become too dangerous now that Russia speaks war language and Moscow has posted more than 100,000 soldiers at the border.

But “we’re not going to do the same because we don’t know any specific reasons yet,” Borrell said.

He expects an explanation from US Secretary of State Antony Blinken later in the day, who is participating in consultations with his EU colleagues.
