FBI: Body Found Belongs to Fiance Gabby Petito

The body found in a Florida nature reserve is Brian Laundrie, 23, the fiancée of 22-year-old Gabby Petito. The FBI has identified the body by its teeth, a spokesman said Thursday.

 

Petito was found strangled after a search of almost a month. Petito’s disappearance was big news in the US and elsewhere.

On Wednesday, the FBI reported that a body had been found that presumably belonged to Laundrie because a backpack and notebook of his had also been found at the spot.

Laundrie and Petito travelled through the United States for months and reported on Instagram and YouTube. After Laundrie returned alone to his parents in Florida on September 1, Petito’s parents reported their daughter missing.

Soon after, Laundrie disappeared. According to his parents, he had not returned from a camping trip. Several weeks later, Petito’s body was found in the state of Wyoming. She appeared to have been murdered.
