Hackers Steal Data from 1.4 Million Corona Tests Parisians

Hackers have made off in France with the personal data of 1.4 million Parisians who took a corona test in mid-2020.

Hospitals in the region filed a report and reported on Wednesday that the data had already been stolen in the summer.

It concerned the personal information, such as social security numbers, contact details and test results of 1.4 million people. The hackers managed to extract the data from the department of regional health care, which is responsible for source and contact investigations.

All those affected will be notified individually. The French privacy watchdog has been informed of the data theft, and an investigation is underway.
