The Number Of Coronavirus Deaths in Germany Increases by 30
In Germany, 30 people have died from the effects of coronavirus in the past 24 hours. That is clearly more than in previous days when fewer than ten deaths were recorded.
This is reported by the Robert Koch Institut (RKI), the German counterpart to RIVM.
The number of new infections was slightly lower at 345 than the previous day when 378 new infections were reported.
Since the start of the corona crisis, 186,184 people in the country have so far been infected with the lung virus.
The German death toll due to Covid-19 is 8830, according to RKI.
About 173,600 people have been cured of the infection, according to the RKI. That is 500 more than a day earlier.
The German government launched the corona app on Tuesday and expected it to be widely used by the population.
The app warns participants if they have been within two meters of someone who has been infected with the coronavirus for a more extended period. They can then be tested.
