Turkey Relaxes Corona Measures
Turkey is relaxing corona measures. At the end of April, the country was almost completely closed due to the sharp increase in the number of corona infections.
From Monday, travel between different places outside of curfews will be allowed again, and meals can be picked up at restaurants, according to a decree from the Turkish Ministry of the Interior.
However, there are still nightlife restrictions for the Turks until at least 1 June. On weekdays, there is a curfew from 9 PM to 5 AM. On weekends, residents are only allowed to go out for essential groceries. Sports clubs and cinemas will remain closed.
President Tayyip Erdogan recently said that he wants to get Turkey out of the lockdown in stages and that more easing is on the way.
In Turkey, the corona rules for tourists have recently become more flexible than for Turks themselves.
