US: No More Mandatory Masks on Flights After Judge’s Ruling
Travellers flying within the United States no longer have to wear a face mask on the plane or at the airport. On Monday, a federal judge in Florida cancelled the obligation to do so that the CDC health agency extended last week.
The CDC wanted to maintain the mouth mask obligation until at least May 3, but that obligation will now expire immediately.
In response to the judge’s decision, the Joe Biden government has announced that it will not continue the mask obligation. However, a White House spokesman said the government still recommends wearing masks on aeroplanes and at airports.
United and Alaska airlines have immediately announced that travellers will no longer have to wear masks on their flights.
