3.8 Million Americans Who Lost Their Jobs Signed Up for Unemployment Benefits

The corona crisis continues to leave an imprint on the US economy. Another 3.8 million Americans who lost their jobs signed up for unemployment benefits last week, the United States Department of Commerce reported.

The counter in terms of aid applications continues to rise, although there is still a further levelling off.

A week earlier, this concerned 4.4 million applications. The week before, it was more than 5.2 million.

Since the corona crisis in the US erupted in full force, more than 30 million new applications for unemployment benefits have already been made.

Unemployment in the United States has risen sharply as a result of the corona measures. It may already be at about 20 percent.

The current crisis is often compared to the Great Depression of the 1930s. President Donald Trump is working on plans to open up the US economy again.
