The Republican Party Convention Kicks Off Monday in Charlotte

The Republican Party convention kicks off Monday in Charlotte. While most of it takes place online as a result of the corona epidemic, 336 delegates attending Charlotte will formally nominate President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence as Republican candidates for the US presidential election in November.

 

The theme of Monday’s convention is ‘land of promise’. However, little is known about the exact details of the day.

Although Trump and Pence will be nominated on Monday, they will not formally accept the nomination until Thursday. The main program takes place between 8:30 PM and 11:00 PM local time.

Trump’s campaign team made public on Sunday who will address the convention when. On Monday, Trump’s son Donald junior, Senator Tim Scott and former UN ambassador Nikki Haley are on the program.

Sources around Trump and Vice President Mike Pence have said that the Republican convention will focus on law and order and the economy. Speakers will portray the Democrats and their candidate Joe Biden as far-left.
