Belgium Locked Up for Travellers from India, Brazil and South Africa
Travellers from India, Brazil and South Africa are not welcome in Belgium for the time being.
The Belgian governments have decided to close the borders for the three countries to combat the spread of contagious variants of the coronavirus. Only a limited number of necessary travel under strict conditions will be allowed, Belgian media report.
According to the Flemish newspaper De Morgen, passenger transport, including transit traffic from India, Brazil and South Africa to Belgium, will be banned.
According to TV channel VRT, it will also no longer be possible for care providers, students or seasonal workers from the three countries to come to Belgium.
The entry ban does not apply to persons with Belgian nationality or people who have their primary residence in Belgium. They can return home. The authorities strongly advise against going to India, Brazil or South Africa despite that knowledge.
