Biden: Putin Considers Chemical Weapons and Cyberattacks

The Russian accusation that Kyiv possesses chemical and biological weapons is not only false, according to US President Joe Biden, but even suggests that Russian President Vladimir Putin himself might consider using such weapons.

Biden provided no evidence for his accusation.

“Putin has his back against the wall,” Biden said at a business conference Monday. “He says America has biological and chemical weapons in Europe. He suggests Ukraine has them too. That’s a clear sign that he’s considering using both.”

Biden also warned of possible Russian cyberattacks in retaliation for Western sanctions against the country. He urged the US private sector to “strengthen your cyber defences immediately”.
