Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau to Attend NATO Summit Next Week

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will attend a NATO meeting at headquarters in Brussels next Thursday, CBC News reports. With this, Trudeau is responding to a call by NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg for the leaders of the thirty NATO countries to come together.

Stoltenberg: “At this critical moment, North America and Europe must continue to work together in NATO.”

US President Joe Biden is also coming to Brussels next week for an additional NATO summit and a visit to the EU summit that will take place then.

Western alliance and union leaders will discuss Russia’s war against Ukraine and its implications for the West at both meetings. Of the 27 EU countries, 21 are also members of NATO.
