IBM Appoints New General Manager for EMEA
Technology company IBM has appointed Marta Martínez Alonso (54) as new general manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
This Spanish is the first woman to lead IBM’s operations in the EMEA region.
Marta Martínez Alonso succeeds Martin Jetter, who has led the European arm of IBM since early 2018. Jetter will remain as chairman of IBM Europe for the rest of this year.
As new general manager, Marta Martínez Alonso will be responsible for business operations, revenue growth, customer satisfaction and employee engagement in a region with more than 100 countries and wide multicultural diversity.
Marta Martínez Alonso has 17 years of experience at IBM and held various local, regional and global positions, including Vice President Infrastructure Technology Services, from 2008 to 2010.
Last year, she was included in the top ten key businesswomen by Corporate Reputation Business Monitor in Spain.
