Netanyahu Launches Counterattack on the Dangerous Leftist Government

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has launched a counterattack against a coalition of opponents who want to rule without him.

 

The 71-year-old politician said on Twitter that “all MPs elected with right-wing votes must oppose this dangerous left-wing government”.

It was Netanyahu’s first public response to his opponents’ monstrous alliance sealed on Wednesday. They agreed that nationalist Naftali Bennett might soon become the new prime minister.

He is relieved after about two years by his coalition partner Yair Lapid. Netanyahu’s premiership will end after 12 years.

The coalition still has to be approved by parliament, and there are opportunities for Netanyahu. Israeli media write that it is trying to sow doubt among right-wing parliamentarians from the anti-Netanyahu camp.

Bennett and Lapid can count on the minor possible parliamentary majority and cannot afford any defectors.
