More States are Coming to Trump’s Aid in Battle for Election Victory

After Texas, many more US states are coming to the rescue of President Trump in his quest to turn his nationwide electoral defeat into victory.

 

Seventeen states say they support Texas is going to the Supreme Court in Washington, US media report. It’s all about states where Trump got the most votes.

The Texas Attorney General has filed suit against four states where Trump’s challenger Biden won, but where Trump triumphed four years ago.

According to Texas, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin have gone wrong because they changed election procedures in connection with the corona crisis. That would have been illegal.

The Supreme Court is not obliged to deal with the complaint. Three of the nine chief justices have been appointed by Trump, the last just before the election.

Critics call Texas’ move an attack on democracy and a political stunt.
